Studying up on the French Revolution

Both “Northanger Abbey” and “Frankenstein” have ties to the French Revolution, so we’ll be discussing the revolution at JASP. But you can brush up on your history now with resources such as these…

Oxford University Press, with whom we’re partnering this year, offers this look at the myths of the French Revolution.

Crash Course,” a popular history/literature video series, focuses on the event in this video.

ThoughtCo. looks at the revolution from the American perspective, while the British Library examines its impact on the United Kingdom.

If you want to look at the revolution through art, the National Gallery of Art explores neoclassicism in the 18th and 19th centuries.

And if you’re interested in food, you might check out “The Supersizers” episode on the revolution. In the series, the co-hosts dress — and eat — as they did during the uprising.
