What to Read

NOVEL OF THE YEAR: Pride and Prejudice

We love Tony Tanner’s preface to this edition.  We also know that so many people have their own (loved and worn) favorite edition. Feel free to bring the edition of your choice this year.

If you buy online, consider using Amazon Smile and selecting Jane Austen Summer Program as your charity of choice!

The only difficulty with multiple editions tends to be that some editions have consecutive chapter numbers throughout, and ignore the original division into three volumes. If you are using such an edition, you might want to write in the original chapter numbers and volume breaks.

ADDITIONAL READING: There are many wonderful adaptations of Pride and Prejudice, but there are three very interesting ones that just came out (or are coming out) this year. An additional bonus is that the authors of these three adaptations are all coming to JASP this year to speak with us and sign their books! If you don’t buy them in advance, Jane Austen Books will also have plenty in stock in the emporium.
