Make your own puppet theater

The holiday season is fast upon us, and here at the Jane Austen Summer Program, we are getting excited about our 2022 program, “Austen & Shakespeare.” So we have made a special free printable for you to download, color and cut and put on your own productions of “Mansfield Park,” “All’s Well that Ends Well,” “King Lear,” or anything you want.

We have several actors in period costume from Tudor times and English Regency as well as two interior locations and one exterior location for your scenery. Attach these to the back of a medium-size box and cut holes out of the side, top, or bottom to move your actors in and out of the scene. If you find your paper is too flimsy, stack it with other sheets or glue them onto a popsicle stick. As always, if you decide to film your puppet shows and share them on social media, be sure to tag us in your post. Happy holidays!
