'Stitch the Perfect Regency Pincushion', a sewing and embroidery workshop with Jennie Batchelor, the author of Jane Austen Embroidery. This workshop is also based on an original Regency pattern from The Lady’s Magazine originally intended for decorating the tip of shoes. The “flowers tied in a bunch” motif has been adapted by Jennie Batchelor for our benefit. We will make a Regency-style pin cushion, and decorate it. This workshop is slightly more difficult than the Sprig, but also achievable by novices. Fabric, hoop, needles, threads, pattern, snippers provided!
Our embroidery workshops will be led by none other than the internationally known Dr. Jennie Batchelor, author of Jane Austen Embroidery (among other books) and lead on the fabulous project for digitizing the 60-year run of The Lady’s Magazine (1770-1832). Jenny will be available to sign her books during JASP as well! Both workshops will use patterns that Jennie has adapted from issues of The Lady’s Magazine, a magazine that Austen most likely read.
